With over 150 films, series, and TV films to his credit, Pierre-Olivier Persin and his company POP FX is one of the most renowned designers and creators of prosthetics and special makeup effects in Europe.

 

He won an Oscar and a BAFTA in 2025 for his work on Coralie Fargeat's THE SUBSTANCE.

 

Passionate about cinema and special effects since childhood, he began his career in 1994, working on video games and plays, and for several years working for a workshop specializing in museography.

 

Since then, he has alternated between auteur cinema and major French and foreign productions, such as the zombie film WAR WORLD Z produced by Paramount, and AVENGERS INFINITY WAR.

 

He also worked on the last three seasons of the series GAME OF THRONES and the Swedish film BORDER.​

 

Recently, he transformed Pierre Niney into THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, created Tahar Rahim's prosthetics for M. AZNAVOUR, and designed and supervised the special makeup effects for THE SUBSTANCE, for which he transformed Demi Moore. ​

 

He has transformed Demi Moore, Juliette Binoche, Matthieu Kassovitz, André Dussollier, Lea Seydoux, Pierre Niney, Tahar Rahim, Carole Bouquet, Laurent Lafitte, and many others. ​ .
